Martin Posegga, Saxophones

Martin Posegga (Saxophone), born in Berlin, studied saxophone, chamber music and clarinet in Berlin, Basel and Dresden with Eberhard Feltz, William Forman and Marcus Weiss. He completed his studies with a concert exam with distinction.

He has worked closely with composers such as Salvatore Sciarrino, Sofia Gubaidulina, Beat Furrer and Georges Aperghis. He gave guest performances at the Staatskapelle Dresden, SWR Stuttgart, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Staatsoper Hamburg under conductors such as Zubin Metha, Christian Thielemann and Sylvain Cambreling. Concert tours have also taken him to many European countries, the USA, Japan, Mexico, Russia and Nigeria.

As a soloist in experimental music theatre he was engaged by Teatro Real Madrid, the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Gare du Nord Basel and was invited by many international festivals such as the Warsaw Autumn, the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival,  the Cervantino Festival or MaerzMusik.

Martin Posegga is a former member of the Young German Philharmonic Orchestra and a fellow of the European Centre for the Arts in Hellerau and of the Darmstadt Summer Courses.
