Zafraan Ensemble presents the debut performance of »Whole Body Like Gone« by Evan Gardner, staged by Ulrike Schwab. The musical theatre takes place on 10 and 11 March, 6 and 7 October at Radialsystem Berlin and on 3 and 4 May 2018 at Gare du Nord Basel.

The music theatre »Whole Body Like Gone« invites to explore the desires and expectations of pop culture: how do the promises of the American Dream shape the culture of young individuals? How does pop culture influence the process of identity formation? Following the comic strip Little Orphan Annie, hits from 1924 and the performance artist Andy Kaufmann, »Whole Body Like Gone« explores how we are characterised by daily myths and how the identity is created in a reflected process. A musical chamber play about distinction and appropriation emerges, in which the musicians of the Zafraan Ensemble and the soprano Dénise Beck become autonomous actors.
