On September 17th at 7:30 p.m. the Zafraan Ensemble can be heard in a very special production of House of Silence by Aron Kitzig at the Lausitz Festival - it's about the extraordinary history of the former Bautzen 2 prison.

The special history of the former Bautzen 2 prison becomes the background and foreground of a musical theater production by Aron Kitzig. The basis is interviews with former prisoners about their dreams during and after imprisonment. The aim is to give space to the diverse memories of those affected; They allow remembrance to become culture in a lively way.
In this way, it is important to give the “House of Silence” a new voice – and not least through the music of Salvatore Sciarrino, Olivier Messiaen and Peter Maxwell Davies.
