The Zafraan Ensemble presents the premiere of the musical theater »Whole Body Like Gone« by Evan Gardner in a production by Ulrike Schwab: on March 10th and 11th and October 6th and 7th in the Radialsystem Berlin and on March 3rd and 4th . May 2018 at the Gare du Nord Basel.
»Whole Body Like Gone« is a musical theater that invites you to search for yourself in the longings and promises of pop culture: How do the promises of the American Dream shape the culture of young individuals? How does pop culture influence the process of identity formation? Based on the comic strip Little Orphan Annie , hits from 1924 and the performance artist Andy Kaufman, “Whole Body Like Gone” explores the influence of everyday myths and the formation of identity as a process with a counterpart. The result is a musical chamber play of differentiation and appropriation in which the musicians of the Zafraan Ensemble and the soprano Dénise Beck become independent actors.
