The next feature concert of “Takeoff” will take place on September 8th, 2017 at the Wabe in Berlin. This time the focus is on Hendrik Rungelrath, whose new work includes pieces by Romitelli, Ofenbauer, Toan and Cage.
In its “Takeoff” series, the Zafraan Ensemble invites one composer to present themselves in the form of a feature. Based on the radio format, text, interviews and music are assembled in order to present biographical, creative and inspiring things to the public. This time our guest is Hendrik Rungelrath, who studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg and the UdK Berlin. He is interested in different forms of repetition, and this is exactly what all the pieces in the program he curates work with – with literal, varying or deforming repetitions, with internal or external recourse, with iterations, periodicities, recursions or loops. Moderated by Lydia Rilling.
