For Salvatore Sciarrino's "Macbeth" in the construction site of the Berlin State Opera, the Zafraan Ensemble is working for the first time with the Opera Lab Berlin and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
As part of the new production of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, directed by artistic director Jürgen Flimm, the orchestra is the extended ensemble of the Opera Lab Berlin with the participation of five instrumentalists from the Zafraan Ensemble (flute, saxophone, piano, cello, double bass). Clemens Hund-Göschel, artistic director of the Zafraan Ensemble, also assists David Robert Coleman’s musical direction and provides accompaniment.
