On January 26th, the Zafraan Ensemble took part in the premiere of the new music children's opera “Oh, how beautiful is Panama” by Lin Wang in the DOB carpentry workshop.
The musical theater version created by the Chinese composer Lin Wang to a libretto by Dorothea Hartmann is based on Janosch’s picture book and was commissioned by the Deutsche Oper Berlin. This production was directed by a team led by Daniel Pfluger, and Kevin McKutcheon was the musical director. In addition to his scenic and musical role on stage, Zafraan ensemble leader Clemens Hund-Göschel also took on the accompaniment for the soloists Jörg Schöner, Martin Gerke, Bini Lee, Rachel Hauge and Tobias Kehrer.
Further performances will take place from January 28th to February 8th, 2013 in the Tischlerei of the Deutsche Oper Berlin .
