Emmanuelle Bernard (violin/viola), born in Die (France), studied violin at the Conservatoire National de Région Grenoble, at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England and at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin. As a violinist and viola player, she deals with many different musical styles, from romantic repertoire to historical performance practice to contemporary music. She is particularly interested in chamber music. She plays regularly at the Podium Festival in Esslingen, Haugesund in Norway and Matadepera in Spain. Numerous concert appearances also took her to Asia, Latin America and other European countries, where she played as a soloist with the European Union Chamber Orchestra and as concertmaster of the Heidelberg Symphony. Since 2014 she has played regularly as a guest at the Academy for Early Music Berlin. Emmanuelle Bernard works with many composers, including Martin Hiendl, Sanchez Verdú, Tristan Murail, Ursula Mamlock, Gabriel Iranyi, Cheryl Frances-Hoad, Yoav Passovski and Clara Gervais. She was involved in several CD productions, including Arnold Schönberg’s Pierrot lunaire and a portrait CD by Sarah Nemtsov.
