As part of the Kontraklang series, the Zafraan Ensemble under the direction of Manuel Nawri and the video artist Nevin Aladağ will meet in the home port of Neukölln on September 16, 2015.
The joint audiovisual program is entitled “City Language” and combines video projections with works by Miloš Tadić, Martin Hiendl, Ulrike Mayer-Spohn, Zeynep Gedizlioğlu, Roberto Fausti, Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Martin Grütter and Yoav Pasovsky.
The video artist Nevin Aladağ was born in Van, Türkiye in 1972. She grew up in Stuttgart, studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and moved to Berlin in 2002. Her short films, as well as her performances and installations, highlight social and political boundaries as well as moments of cultural translation. With a particular interest in sounds/music, Aladağ also often explores urban and natural environments.
