As part of the exhibition “Seven Walks in and around Blitzdorf” by Bnaya Halperin-Kaddari, David Chaki and Ido Gordon, the Zafraan Ensemble will perform the concert installation “Blitzdorf” in the Archive Books Berlin gallery on October 31, 2018.
A resounding continuum attempts to bridge the emptiness of the map, the quiet spots of repressed geography. Field recordings from Israel/Palestine and sound walks intertwine with newly developed instruments played live and attempt to change the relationship to these areas. The ghosts of the villages wiped out in the war in 1948 echo and form a counterpoint to absence with their revived sound world.
