On January 26th and 27th, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. (Theater in the Delphi) and on January 28th at 6:00 p.m. (Hamburg Resonance Room), we will take you, together with the composer Uday Krishnakumar and the narrator Timsal Masud, to northern India, to the realm of the kite fighters.
Hiding Place – The Ornament
is an imagined performance practice with elements of shadow play, narrative and instrumental music that moves into the world of a kite fighter in northern India around 1903. On his journey for recognition, he has to witness the destruction of previous cultural and social structures and, last but not least, question his art form. The composer Uday Krishnakumar puts us in a state of unique astonishment with the extreme slowing down, expansion and superposition of simple stories and melodies.
