You could actually have filled the entire ten concerts with just Paul Dessau, his students and their students and still wouldn’t be complete. Or you would have only talked about Paul Dessau for ten evenings and you would only be in the middle of your life. That’s why there is only a dramaturgically justifiable selection, consisting of the teacher, the student, the last student and one of the student’s students. And electronic music should, after all, sometimes. And more time would be nice too. Then late in the evening we could listen to the wondrous record Night in a Black Cable Car to Waldpotsdam, which the student-student-student (Dessau-Zechlin-Herchet) Stephan Winkler recorded with Max Goldt. But we’ll probably do it anyway, because of the branches.
