On December 4, 2011, the Zafraan Ensemble will present its new scenic concert program in the studio hall of the HfM "Hanns Eisler" together with the painter Luis Ángel Prestell and the speaker Martín Carril Obiols.
Under the title “Palimpsesto,” the Zafraan Ensemble presents an extraordinary visual-poetic concert evening for the eyes and ears, in which music, images and spoken word are equally in the foreground.
The ensemble plays contemporary works by Juan Cué, Héctor Parra, Alberto Demestres, Mauricio Sotelo and a piece by the Renaissance composer Luys de Narváez. Eight poems by young Spanish authors take up the mood of the music and intertwine it with the recitation. The polyphonic sound worlds are accompanied by projected images by the painter Luis Ángel Prestell. Musical improvisations overlay the interplay of images and sounds.
As with the different layers of a palimpsest, the simultaneity and interaction of the three art forms creates a new perception of music, language and image. A new look at the hidden is made visible and audible.
