Production manager (f/m/d) wanted!

Who are we?

Since its founding in 2009, the Zafraan Ensemble has become a fixture on the international new music scene. The group, which consists of ten permanent instrumentalists and is organized in a grassroots democratic manner, prefers to play current repertoire, which is covered by the core line-up of violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, clarinet, saxophone, harp, piano and percussion. With around 35 performances a year, the ensemble is on the road regularly; rehearsals and meetings usually take place in Berlin.

Tasks include:

• Organization, logistical planning and implementation of all productions and other artistic activities in collaboration with the management and the entire ensemble
• Communication between ensemble, management and cooperation partners
• Planning travel, transport and accommodation for the ensemble
• Supervision of rehearsals and concerts
• Budget planning and monitoring
• Communication with the sponsors before, during and after the projects as well as the preparation of invoices

We would like the following qualifications:

• Professional experience in production in the independent scene or a comparable position
• Good knowledge of production and execution processes
• Experience with third-party funding billing
• Interest in music and enjoy working with creative people
• Organizational talent, communication skills, personal resilience, ability to work in a team, independent way of working
• Ability to implement complex work processes and planning structures creatively and in a goal- and cost-oriented manner
• High sense of responsibility and social skills
• Independent, responsible, solution- and service-oriented implementation of tasks
• Good IT skills (especially Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Flexibility in working hours
• Good English and other foreign language skills are an advantage

Type of employment: permanent position/ initially limited until the end of 2025, then dependent on the basic funding from the Berlin Senate, which we have received since 2013. If desired, billing can also be done on a fee basis.
