LOG BOOK is a game about the power of imagination when listening to music. Let your imagination run wild!

LOG BOOK is a game for people with imagination and open ears. An equally extensive musical collection has been created for 80 wonderfully designed motif cards. In the game, players try to match images to the music and creatively convince others of their own choices. A wonderful starting point for discussing music and getting to know your partner. A game for all ages, for every music listener, from children to concert critics and dramaturges.

The composer and visual artist François Sarhan has been keeping a sound diary since 2019. Not in the sense of an intimate journal, but a logbook, like the one kept by a captain who records the events of the day. Sarhan is interested in the forgotten, the very small and – in the style of Georges Perec – the unusual. These micro-events are not notated in the form of scores, but are initially only recorded by mixing and cutting sound bytes. In a collaborative composition process together with the musicians of the Zafraan Ensemble, the material is musically shaped and recorded in the studio. As the collection grew, the idea of a card game emerged, which connects the small works of art with image motifs via QR codes on the backs of the cards and invites people to listen to and share them together. We are delighted with how the energy and freshness of the musical ideas are transferred to the card game and would like to share this experience with many people.
The game is best played with 4 to 8 people, but there is also a variant for 2 players or 2 teams.
