On November 16th and 17th, 2013, the Zafraan Ensemble will explore the balance between individual and collective, individual sound and music in a concert choreographed by Louise Wagner together with the dancers Lisanne Goodhue and Ingo Reulecke.
»As air vibrations, all tones are naturally free in the same way and have certain inviolable rights such as approach, duration, freedom of expression and the striving for and achieving beauty of sound.«
»If the individual tone is concerned with the interests and honor of the composition, then it is noble if it actively strives forward. To toil for the sake of vain individual fame and to seek ways and means of success is clearly reprehensible.
In a concert choreographed by Louise Wagner, the Zafraan Ensemble, together with the dancer Lisanne Goodhue and the dancer Ingo Reulecke, explores the balance between individual and collective, individual sound and music. The interplay between acoustic and visual perception of chamber music and its social structures is the starting point of the production. Works by composers living in Berlin as well as Chinese composers will be heard.
With compositions by Ziyuan Guo (UA), Aziza Sadikova (UA), Xiaoyong Chen, Simon Steen-Andersen, Genoël Rühle von Lilienstern and Georg Katzer.
