Algorithms become an unrepeatable spatial and sound experience, with the digital and human worlds inextricably interwoven.
Like Tears in Rain.
The operating instructions for the music machine are read out, all visitors know what to do…and off they go! In Like Tears in Rain, the audience plays the decisive role – there is a mixing desk in the middle of the room that changes the musicians’ notes in real time. While the music is playing, the audience can operate the mixing desk – so even the youngest members of the audience can help create the piece and immediately hear the effect of their actions at the mixing desk.
The version of Like Tears in Rain, which was created in collaboration with Daniella Strasfogel (LOUDsoft), won the 15th Junge Ohren Prize! The Junge Ohren Prize is the largest competition for music education in the German-speaking world.
