»Klangrede« with Titus Engel at SWR2 ars nova in Rottenburg
After the debut at Ultraschall Festival Berlin with new compositions by Eres Holz, Stefan Keller and Johannes Boris Borowski, Zafraan Ensemble is bringing this programme under the baton of Titus Engel to the Zehntscheuer Rottenburg, on 2 July 2016 at 7 pm.
The three composer Eres Holz, Stefan Keller and Johannes Boris, who are all based in Berlin, pursue the idea to create a new rhetoric in their music which explores the relations between familiar and unknown fields.
Originating from the term »Klangrede«, which was characterised during late Baroque by composer and musicographer Johann Mattheson and taken up again within the so called historic performance practice by Nikolaus Harnoncourt, the three composer are searching for expressions which cause a process of understanding when listening to them and do not refer to any specific traditions. To enhance this process, two works by each composer will be combined. This enables a listening and also a comparison within the individual work of the composer – like an acoustic gaze into the workshop of a young composer generation, presenting one world premiere. The compositions are commissioned by Zafraan Ensemble and financed by Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung.
Works by Thomas Adés, Yair Klartag and Pierre Boulez will expand the programme for the concert at SWR2 ars nova in Rottenburg to a »Day for New Music« (»Tag für Neue Musik«).
