2. September 2013

On 6 September 2013, Zafraan Ensemble will perform a choreography by Louise Wagner at the exhibition opening of »move – align – avoid« at Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof.

move – align – avoid. On the Swarm as Principle and Phenomenon. An exhibition with Julian Charrière, Nadine Fecht, Susanne Kriemann, George Maciunas, Yutaka Makino, Benjamin Patterson, Bettina Pousttchi, Radek Community, Man Ray and Mark Thompson.

move – align – avoid: To orientate yourself by the movement of your direct neighbours, to follow them and, at the same time, to not come too close to them. The natural spectacle of a swarm is based on these three rules. The exhibition deals with this formation as a phenomenon between chaos and order; and it engages with the principle that is already being used as a model of cultural transmission.

Opening programme on 6 September 2013, 6 pm
7:30 pm: Musical performance by Zafraan Ensemble with compositions by Karlheinz Essl, Frederic Rzewski and improvisations based on the swarm principle, choreographed by Louise Wagner.
