Anna Viechtl (harp), born in Munich, studied at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin with Prof. Maria Graf, where she received the concert diploma and the pedagogical diploma for harp. She completed the concert exam at the Detmold University of Music with Prof. Godelieve Schrama.
From 2007 to 2011, Anna Viechtl was solo harpist in the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has played regularly in well-known orchestras such as the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Chamber Academy Potsdam. Since 2013 she has been teaching at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin.
Anna Viechtl is a very versatile harpist. She performs nationally and internationally as a soloist, in various chamber music ensembles and in various formations in the field of contemporary and experimental music. She also plays at concerts and pop music productions with a wide variety of bands and musicians, including The Notwist, Hans Unstern, Emiliana Torrini, Stargaze and with jazz greats such as Hermeto Pascoal. She is a founding member of the jazz ensemble Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra.
