Martin Posegga (saxophone), born in Berlin, studied saxophone, chamber music and clarinet in Berlin, Basel and Dresden with Eberhard Feltz, William Forman, Marcus Weiss, Johannes Ernst, Josef Oehl and completed his concert exam with distinction.
He is a prizewinner of the German Music Competition, the International Competition for Contemporary Chamber Music in Krakow/Poland, Zinetti Competition Italy, European Chamber Music Competition, Kamermuziekconcours Almere/Netherlands, Yamaha Competition Madrid and others in Switzerland, England and Greece.
He was a guest with the Staatskapelle Dresden, the SWR Stuttgart and the Komische Oper Berlin under conductors such as Zubin Metha, Peter Eötvös, Marek Janowski and Christian Thielemann. Concert tours have also taken him to many European countries, the USA, Japan, Mexico, Russia and Nigeria.
As a soloist in experimental music theater he was engaged by the Teatro Real Madrid, the National Theater Mannheim and the Ruhrtriennale and was invited by many international festivals such as the Warsaw Autumn, the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, the Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festival, the Cervantino Festival and Maerz Musik.
Martin Posegga is a former member of the Young German Philharmonic and a scholarship holder of the European Center for the Arts in Hellerau and the Darmstadt Summer Courses.
