Das IMPULS festival gastiert am 19. November 2017 in Berlin und lädt zusammen mit dem Zafraan Ensemble in die Musikbrauerei. Mit dabei sind auch Salome Kammer, Manuel Nawri, die Neuen Vocalsolisten und das Quatuor Tana mit neuen Werken von Johannes Schöllhorn, Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Raphaël Cendo, Elena Mendoza, Annette Mengel und Nicolai Worsaae.
Die beiden von Salome Kammer und dem Zafraan Ensemble gestalteten Teile (Beginn: 16 Uhr und 20 Uhr) spannen einen großen Bogen vom Solo bis zum kompletten Ensembleklang. Den Rahmen bilden zwei Werke von Samir Odeh-Tamimi, einem Komponisten, dessen Musik ein besonderer Aufruf an das Hören ist. Seine Werke rufen mit ihrem direkten Zugang zum Ursprung der Musik – der gesungenen Sprache und archaischem Rhythmus – eine intensive Kommunikation hervor. Dem folgend thematisieren die weiteren Werke des Abends die Suche nach einer gemeinsamen Sprache und die dabei stattfindende Aneignung von vorher Unbekanntem: mal poetisch-philosophisch, wie bei der Uraufführung der Umnachtungen von Annette Mengel und den Stücken Elena Mendozas, mal räumlich wie bei Sarah Nemtsov oder im Graffiti-Style bei Nicolai Worsaae und humoristisch bei Györgi Kurtág. Besonders gespannt sein kann man auch auf die Uraufführung des vollständigen Zyklus der sérigraphies von Johannes Schöllhorn: Fünf späte Klavierstücke von Gabriel Fauré werden kompositorisch neu betrachtet und gießen die gleichzeitige Schönheit und Fremdheit in eine ganz neue Form.
Im mittleren Teil (Beginn: 17:30 Uhr) steht die deutsche Erstaufführung des siebzigminütigen Werks Delocazione für Streichquartett und Vokalquartett von Raphaël Cendo an, das dieser nach Texten von Claude Royet-Journoud, Georges Didi-Huberman, Rainer-Maria Rilke, Georges Bataille für das französisch-belgische Quatuor Tana und die Neuen Vocalsolisten Stuttgart geschrieben hat. Nach der gefeierten Uraufführung beim Festival Musica in Strasbourg im Oktober ist dieses von IMPULS mit in Auftrag gegebene Werk nun erstmals in Deutschland zu erleben.
Zwischen den Teilen ist das Publikum eingeladen, sich in den spektakulären Räumlichkeiten der Musikbrauerei zu erfrischen, auszutauschen und sich auch an dem Gespräch von Festivalintendant Hans Rotman (Beginn: 19 Uhr) mit u.a. Johannes Schöllhorn, Annette Mengel, Samir Odeh-Tamimi und weiteren Künstlern des Abends zu beteiligen.
