Im Rahmen des IMPULS festival arbeitet das Zafraan Ensemble mit fünf internationalen Nachwuchskomponisten zusammen und gibt am 27. und 28. Oktober 2017 im Bauhaus Dessau und im Radialsystem V zwei Konzerte mit fünf Uraufführungen.
Fünf Komponisten der jungen Generation treffen zum allerersten Mal in dieser Werkstatt zusammen. Der Bogen wird von Weimar über Stuttgart, Strasbourg, Paris bis nach Kolumbien gespannt. Von dort kommt die in Paris lebende Violetta Cruz, die von Annette Schlünz, damals Jurymitglied, eine Stimme zur Aufnahme an das Pariser Conservatoire erhielt. Elisabeth Paulus ist die jüngste, an der Stuttgarter Hochschule immatrikulierte, Komponistin der Runde. Romeo Wecks, der als Preisträger der Halberstädter Orchesterwekstatt teilnimmt, studiert Komposition in Weimar. Étienne Haan begann 2012 das Kompositionsstudium bei Annette Schlünz am Strasbourger Conservatoire und wird ab September ein Masterstudium an der Hanns Eisler Hochschule Berlin aufnehmen. Bastien Davids Arbeiten überzeugten die Kursleiterin als Jurymitglied für die Aufträge des französischen Kultusministeriums 2016.
